At Mama Love Midwifery we strongly believe in a woman's
ability to give birth. We see the growth of your baby as not just
one of physiological health, but a process that stems from your
love and the love of your family.

In working with us you will be the primary decision maker in your
care, with your midwives as guides. We feel that the more
empowered you are in your prenatal care, the more empowered
you will be in the birth of your baby, and as a parent. Birth is a rite
of passage, and we are assistants in your rite of passage.

In our 1 hour prenatal visits, using nutritional and herbal support
we will guide you in your pregnancy and the changes in your
body.
We also offer group prenatals as a way for you to connect with
other childbearing women. Through these unique visits, you have
the opportunity to learn how other pregnant women are caring for
themselves, as well as build lasting connections.

Throughout your care, we are available 24/7 for any healthcare
needs that may arise. With regular phone support, or an additional
visit, we will help you find the best remedy for your concern.

We will support you in your emotional process, as we see this to
be a strong influence in the birth process. Part of the preparation
of childbirth is the acknowledgement of fears and challenges that
may arise. The trust that we build prenatally will give you even
more room to birth confidently.

We each have specific tools to offer women who are healing from
traumatic experiences. Birth is a way to heal your soul, psyche,
and body. Whether you may be recovering from sexual trauma, a
previous traumatic birth, an abusive relationship, or just the
process of growing up, we will help you find your way to move
through and beyond those past experiences, and on to a birth
experience that is informed by a new way of being.

In the birth room we will follow your lead, and nudge you when
you need nudging. We deeply value the sacredness of birth. And,
without losing sight of that sacredness, we also deeply value our
skills, and are continually educating ourselves to keep those skills
sharp, as well as aquire new ones. This means that if there is an
emergent situation, we will be ready.

After your baby has arrived we will foster your family's bonding
right away. We will assure that everyone is stable and healthy
before we tuck you into bed. We will return for postpartums on
days 1, 3,as well as 5 or 7. At 2, 4 and 6 weeks you will come into
our office for your final visits. If at any point you are needing more
support, we will make sure that you get it. Just like during your
prenatal care, we will be available for phone support regularly.

By planning a homebirth, you are planning a beginning
for your baby that focuses on wellness and on your
ability to care for your family.
